2013 Interview with Bob Fletcher regarding Al Shabaab and the challenges we face.

Bob Fletcher is the Executive Director of the Center for Somalia History Studies.   He is the former Ramsey County Sheriff, past Chair of the East Metro Community Protection Task Force on Terrorism and current Mayor of the City of Vadnais Heights. As the Commander of the St. Paul Police Juvenile Unit, Bob became an expert on Juvenile Delinquency.   In 2007 Bob began studying Somali history, culture, youth radicalization and Al-Shabaab.  For the past seven years Bob has been immersed in the Twin Cities Somali Community.  He is a frequent instructor regarding our Somali community and the radicalization of Minnesota Youth and he has appeared on numerous major news networks because of his expertise in the field.  He can be reached at

Abdrizak Bihi the Executive Director of the Somali Education and Social Advocacy Center.   He is been a congressional witness regarding extremism and recruitment by Al Shabaab.  He is a frequent speaker regarding radicalization and has appeared on nearly every major news network in the western world to share his insights regarding the trends in Minnesota.  His nephew was recruited by Al-Shabaab and was killed in Somalia.  He currently is a member of the MInnesota Countering Violent Extremism Pilot Project Task Force.

Dahir Jibreel is the former Chief of Staff to Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf.  He is a licensed Social Studies teacher and the former Executive Director of the Somali Justuce Advocacy Centter. He is a past Executive Leadership fellow at the University of Minnesota Center for Integrative Leadership and a frequent traveler to Somalia.
